NAMIKOSHI SHIATSU EUROPA

Namikoshi Shiatsu Europa is an organization that is recognized by Japan Shiatsu College.
This organization thrust mainly by Spanish Japanese Shiatsu School, managed by Shigeru Onoda, has the challenge of promotion Namikoshi Shiatsu in Europe, a typical Japanese hand therapy.

Why Namikoshi Shiatsu and no other styles?

From all Shiatsu styles spread in Europe or countries worldwide, Namikoshi's stand above the rest because of its well established structure and because it is an organization that is recognized by Japan. Namikoshi School is the only Japanese institution that prepares its students to state exam of Shiatsu. Then, it is important to transmit the authentic style not just in its native land but also in other countries.

Now, twelve associations from seven countries participate in activities of this organization.

In the times we are living, people are getting closer to alternative medicine, manual therapies like: osteopathy, Shiatsu, sport massage, acupuncture, etc., they are becoming a popular need.

Even when there are problems with ministry to recognize the legalization of all these therapies, the need of legalization of Shiatsu in Europe is becoming unable to stop.

Because of this, it is important we stay together. United to investigate, interchange between us with the challenge of spreading authentic Namikoshi Shiatsu, and bring N.S.E. to an important place in Europe. In the same way, we have created this group with purpose of gathering every reality of Namikoshi Shiatsu that until this moment they have walk alone. So our perspective is getting spacious.

Next, we put together the most relevant elements of statutes of the association and unsettle rules that are waiting to be approved.

DENOMINATION

Namikoshi Shiatsu Europa (NSE) is constituted as a non profit organization.

ADDRESS AND FIELD OF DEVELOPMENT

The association has its head office at 45th Juan Ramon Jimenez Street, 1st left, 28036 Madrid, Spain. Its operation field is European countries members of NSE.

PURPOSE

The association has the purpose of promoting Namikoshi Shiatsu in Europe

ACTIVITIES
For fulfillment of our purposes, we will carry out next activities:

I. To ease interchange and acquisition of information, through mutual help in our work and through friendship between people and organizations which are devoted to Namikoshi Shiatsu promotion. Communication language between members will be English; then the web site will be published in Spanish, Japanese and English.
II. To start formation and registration of official instructors of Namikoshi Shiatsu. International instructors will be in charge of formation of instructors and of exams. These instructors will be teachers of Japan Shiatsu College qualified for technique teaching, and also local instructors whose experience and capability are recognize by head office.
III. To promote the exchange of techniques and information between old students of Japan Shiatsu College whose professional activities develop in Europe. Until today, it did not exist the chance to keep a good communication between old students of Japan Shiatsu College. A good relation between them will contribute to promote Namikoshi Shiatsu method in Europe, because these Japanese are best-knowing of Namikoshi Shiatsu foundations. Useful information for European members will be divulged in Japanese and English. NSE web site will publish technical information of Shiatsu.
IV. International collaboration in Europe to legalize Shiatsu by Health Office of each European countries governments. A movement towards the legalization of Shiatsu in any European country will exert a positive influence in another countries' decision. The translation of results of scientific investigations done by Japan Shiatsu College will constitute a good reference so the therapy would be recognized legally by Europe.
V. To help old students of Japan Shiatsu College and members of Japanese Shiatsu Association who have in mind to develop their activities in Europe. These students with Japanese Shiatsu Association will make a non stop effort to spread this therapy, improving the quality and technique of Shiatsu.

REGULATIONS

1. The head office of "Namikoshi Shiatsu Europa" would be in Madrid
2. It will be need an official contract with associations and representative groups of each country.
3. To balance the study levels in every country associated, the head office of N.S.E. will be in charge of responsibilities, also it will give a basic teaching method for Namikoshi Shiatsu; but it will not control internal problems of each school.
4. Every teacher at this moment must register like instructors of N.S.E. N.S.E. will organize study groups," Benkyo-kai", for registered instructors twice a year. These meetings will be in a different country each.
5. Every instructor of N.S.E. must participate as a requirement in a seminary, once in two years, that will be organized in Japan (Japan Shiatsu College).
6. N.S.E. head office will publish a standard book of Namikoshi Shiatsu that will be distributed and sold to every member and student of the associated schools. The collection will be assigned to N.S.E. capital.
7. To establish the required hours of study for each course, there will be a meeting of leaders of every school of every country.
8. A certificated diploma will be sent to every student of associated schools of N.S.E., after payment of a minimum cost. It would be signed by president of N.S.E. The collection will be assigned to N.S.E. capital.
9. Considering the historical or geographical situation, it could be chosen two or more leaders for each country.
10. The function of N.S.E. will be self-sufficient from I.S.A. and Shiatsu Association of Japan until it has a concrete stability. The director of Japan Shiatsu College, Mr. Kazutami Namikoshi, and the dean of international issues, Mr. Hiroshi Aoki, will decide if the future of N.S.E. should be controlled by I.S.A.
11. From N.S.E. head office we will send instructors to every country associated to organize a European congress once a year or two years. The last day of these congresses will be dedicated to a seminary from instructors of the head office, for every instructor and leaders who attended.
12. The name "Shiatsupractor" is registered in Canada, United States of America, Japan and Europe. "Shiatsupractor" will allow not to be mistaken with other styles of Shiatsu. Just, and exclusively, the leaders of each school could authorize the use of this term by experienced therapist.
13. To carry out any future project of this organization we will assemble with leaders of each country. We will vote for every proposal. Each leader will have one vote.
